Prototyping - Week 2
Hey there!
In the first week we brainstormed about the game we were gonna make and this is what we ended up with:
Every player owns a castle on wheels, the castle possesses a number of cannons which can be fired to damage the other players, but there's different kinds of cannons, some fire grenades that explode after a while, some plant mines and there's also a harpoon cannon with which you can pull other castles towards you. To be able to shoot a cannon, you need to drive around and collect resources on the map.The goal is to be the last man standing.
The second week was reserved to prototype the ideas we came up with.
The team had some communication and clarity issues which meant that not a lot of work got done. Also Unreal Engine caused some problems as programming for it is not that easy. After a while we had to give up unreal and swap to unity to have an actual prototype for next week.
The work that got done has not been playtested yet with multiple players, so a lot of prototyping questions remain unanswered. Luckily our view of the game has clarified a lot and the team is inspired to start the next prototyping week.
